A Rare Collaboration of Elegance and Performance
The Lamborghini 3500 GTZ Zagato is an exceptionally rare and significant piece of Lamborghini’s early history.
This one-off collaboration between Lamborghini and Zagato was based on the 350 GT chassis, with the goal of creating an even more exclusive and distinctive design.
Under the hood, the 3.5-liter V12, derived from the engine designed by Giotto Bizzarrini, provided the car with both power and refinement.
The bodywork was crafted by Zagato, the renowned Italian design house famous for its bespoke, lightweight, and aerodynamic creations.
Compared to the 350 GT, the 3500 GTZ featured a more compact, curvaceous, and aggressive design, further enhancing its unique appeal.
With only two units ever built, the 3500 GTZ remains one of the rarest Lamborghinis in existence. Each example was custom-built for individual clients,
emphasizing exclusivity and craftsmanship.
History about the 0310 chassis.
Originally debuted at the 1965 London Motor Show, it was first presented in a striking white color with black interiors. After its public debut, it was sold to Marquis Gerino Gerini, who later exported the car to Australia. There, the car was converted to right-hand drive and repainted red to suit the owner’s preferences.
In 1999, the car was acquired by a German collector, who restored it to its original left-hand drive configuration and returned it to its original white color.
The car was then sold again in 2006 and showcased at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance to much acclaim.
In 2017, the car won the prestigious Best of Show award at the Concorso d'Eleganza in Kyoto, Japan. As of 2023, 0310 is owned by Bill Pope from Scottsdale, Arizona. The car continues
to be a sought-after classic, with its status reaffirmed when it was featured in the Lamborghini 60th Anniversary class at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
Today, chassis 0310 is considered a valuable piece of Lamborghini's heritage, showcasing the bespoke craftsmanship of both Lamborghini and Zagato,
and remains one of the most significant and well-preserved Lamborghinis from the brand's early years.
History about the 0322 chassis.
The Lamborghini 3500 GTZ Zagato, chassis number 0322, is the second and final example ever built. This unique vehicle made its debut at the 1965 Turin Motor Show, where it was displayed as a showpiece by Zagato. After the event, the car was sent back to Automobili Lamborghini for further assessment and evaluation.
Unfortunately, this second example met an untimely end. During the summer of 1966, chassis 0322 was involved in a severe accident, and the car was destroyed.
Although the car’s destruction was widely reported, official confirmation regarding the exact details remains elusive.
